The GEO dual-inlet gas isotope ratio mass spectrometer provides the ultimate precision and sensitivity in stable isotope measurement of a wide range of gases.

High precision analysis combined with a range of sample preparation modules gives the GEO the flexibility to adapt to a wide range of applications. These include geochemistry, hydrology, environmental, marine and biological sciences; in fact any application where ultimate IRMS performance is a necessity.
The instrument is designed to the highest specification and combines state
of the art technology with moderate cost. It can be used in dual-inlet and
continuous-flow modes with a variety of optional add-on accessories and sample
preparation systems. The GEO couples the unrivalled
ultra-low dead volume Pentabloc dual-inlet system, the PENTA, with the well
known and proven 20-22 mass spectrometer. The exceptional 120° extended
geometry ion optics of the 20-22 analyser provides high dispersion over a
short path length and near 100% transmission, giving large instrument performance
in a small package.
The GEO is compatible with all of the Sercon’s continuous flow preparation systems and is the most comprehensive and flexible instrument available for high precision IRMS.
using a two-module arrangement it allows the upgrading of an existing Sercon 20-22 Continuous Flow Mass Spectrometer to the GEO Dual Inlet IRMS System.
